At Punz, our mission is to build a human-scale communication platform where you can express yourself, exchange thoughts, and talk to friends freely and safely. When you use Punz, you trust us with your communications. We honor that trust through privacy-by-design principles, modern cryptographic standards, and zero surveillance.
We do not build advertising dossiers on you, we do not read your private direct messages, and we will never sell your personal information to third-party data brokers. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the absolute control you retain over your personal data.
2. End-to-End Encrypted Communications
Privacy in personal conversation is a fundamental human right. All direct, one-on-one and group chats, voice notes, and private media transmitted between users on Punz are protected by End-to-End Encryption (E2EE).
- Device-Only Cryptographic Keys: Encryption keys are created and stored exclusively on your personal device. Only the recipient’s device holds the private keys required to decrypt and read your messages.
- Zero Interception: Punz servers, our engineers, network carriers, and third parties cannot decrypt, read, or listen to the contents of your encrypted communications.
- No Metadata Profiling: We do not log message contents or build communicative relationship graphs for ad monetization.
3. Information We Collect
We believe in radical data minimization. We only collect the minimal information necessary to deliver a reliable, secure service:
3.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account Details: Your chosen display name, username, email address, password hash, and optional profile picture.
- Profile Bio: Any text, external links, or location details you voluntarily choose to share on your public profile.
- Public Thoughts & Content: Public thoughts, text posts, photos, videos, and poll questions you deliberately post to the public feed or channels.
3.2 Technical Information Collected Automatically
- Device & App Signals: Device model, operating system version, app version, language preference, and push notification tokens needed to deliver message alerts.
- Network Diagnostics: Coarse IP address used solely for security diagnostics, anti-spam bot defense, and regional abuse prevention. We do not track precise GPS coordinates.
4. How We Use Your Information
Your information is processed strictly for the direct operation and safety of Punz:
- To authenticate your identity, host your profile, and deliver your chronological timeline.
- To route encrypted private messages, voice notes, and media directly to your recipients.
- To prevent automated bot spam, malicious attacks, platform abuse, and unauthorized account access.
- To send critical service notices, security alerts, and system updates.
5. What We Never Do With Your Data
To be unequivocal and transparent:
- We never sell, lease, or rent your personal information or contact details to third parties.
- We never scan your private chats or voice notes for advertising keywords or targeting.
- We never share your personal identifiers with data brokers or marketing networks.
6. Your Rights & Total Data Control
You have full ownership of your data at all times. From your account settings, you can:
- Access & Export: Request a full copy of your public posts, media, and profile details in a standard machine-readable format.
- Edit & Rectify: Modify your username, display name, avatar, and bio at any time.
- Delete Everything: Permanently delete your Punz account. Upon deletion, all your profile data, feed posts, and associated credentials are permanently purged from our active systems.
7. Data Security & Retention
We deploy strict security measures including transport layer encryption (TLS 1.3), hashed and salted credential storage, and end-to-end cryptographic safeguards. Public posts remain available as long as your account remains active or until you delete them. Encrypted messages in transit are discarded from server memory once successfully delivered to the recipient’s device.
